Roles and responsibilities

  • Mark is responsible for BBC Sport’s journalistic output across all platforms
  • His Stories team provides news, features and audio and video output to the BBC app and website, television and radio as well as content for iPlayer.

Biography

Mark joined the BBC in March 2025. He joined from the Telegraph where he was Head of News, responsible for their domestic and foreign news coverage as well as overseeing their Politics and Investigations teams. During 14 years at the Telegraph Mark also held positions as Head of Sport and News Editor. As a reporter Mark was New York correspondent and Crime Correspondent at the Telegraph.

Expenses and central bookings

Expenses are costs incurred by BBC staff on behalf of the BBC and claimed through the BBC's expenses system.

Central bookings are costs incurred on behalf of the BBC and booked through the BBC's central bookings system. Both expenses and central bookings are published every three months.
