David Baddiel picks his final Tracks Of My Years
Comedian, broadcaster and author David Baddiel chooses his final two songs for Tracks Of My Years. Plus there’s more quiz fun with Ten To The Top.
Comedian, broadcaster and author David Baddiel reveals the final songs on Tracks Of My Years.
First coming to widespread attention as part of the comedy troupe 'The Mary Whitehouse' experience, David really rose to the 'A-list' as part of spin-off duo Newman & Baddiel. David and Rob Newman were held up as examples of comedy as ‘the new rock ’n’ roll’, culminating in the first-ever sold-out gig for a comedy act at Wembley Arena, playing to 12,500 people.
After splitting with Rob Newman, David found even bigger success with Frank Skinner and their 'Fantasy Football' show, first on the BBC, and then later on ITV.
In later years David has toured his own standup shows such as 'My Family: Not The Sitcom' and 'Trolls: Not The Dolls', plus he's become a respected commentator, author and playwright. David’s books have sold over 2.5 million copies with translations into 30 languages, and his children’s books’ have won some of the highest accolades in the genre.
His latest children's book 'Small Fry' is a David vs Goliath adventure story about a boy called Benny who spends his weekends helping his dad work at their burger van parked outside the local football ground. When Benny finds his grandfather’s old recipe book, he starts cooking INCREDIBLE food – so good, in fact, that he attracts the unwanted attention of fast-food giant Bonkers Burgers...
Plus the mid-morning music quiz Ten To The Top, a trip to the BBC Archive with Vernon's Vault, and the Record and Album Of The Week.
Whatever you're up to, Vern wants to hear from you - email [email protected] - and if you’d like to apply to take part in Ten To The Top, the address you need is [email protected]
