BOTH:Radha? Radha? Where's Radha? Radha?
RADHA:Ben, Breagha… I'm here!
BREAGHA:Oh!
BEN:There you are.
RADHA:Hello you two.
BOTH:Hello Radha.
BEN:Oh yes, umm
BOTH:Happy Birthday!
RADHA:Aww thank you. You two are feeling happy aren’t you?
BEN:Yes Radha.
RADHA:And so am I, were all feeling happy today.
BEN:Of course we are, it's your happy birthday.
RADHA:Why don’t we find out more about feeling happy?
BOTH:Oh yes please!
RADHA:'You can make someone else feel happy by doing something nice for them. 'Or you can be happy yourself when you do something really well. 'And if everything just makes you smile then you're feeling happy.'
RADHA:Feeling happy is a nice way to feel isn't it?
BREAGHA:Yes it is Radha.
BEN:It sure is!
RADHA:And you both know that not everyone can feel happy, all the time? But if you're feeling very unhappy, what should you do?
BREAGHA:Oh… You should talk to someone.
RADHA:That's right Breagha.
BEN:Radha?
RADHA:Yes Ben?
BEN:Breagha and I are feeling very happy today for a very special reason.
RADHA:Oh what's that?
BEN:Well…
BREAGHA:We've got a surprise for you.
RADHA:Oh!
BREAGHA:Well, It's Ben's surprise really but we're doing it together.
RADHA:Oh how lovely!
BREAGHA:Ben worked really hard on it. Go on, you say.
BEN:Oh, OK, well, um, it started last week. I had a brilliant idea for a birthday surprise for you.
BEN:'I thought it would be a great idea to write you a special song, Radha.
BEN:'I started last week and I kept working on it every day. 'But it wasn't going very well. 'There was something missing.
BEN:'And I really wanted to get the song right. 'Breagha came over. 'She could tell I wasn’t feeling very happy and asked if she could help.
BEN:'So I played her the song. 'Breagha made me feel better by telling me that she loved it! 'And came up with a great dance to go with it. 'And then I felt very happy with it.
BEN:'I knew there had been something missing 'It was Breagha's dance to go along with my song.' And that's your surprise Radha.
RADHA:What a happy story, thank you both.
BEN:And we can't wait to show it to you.
BREAGHA:Oh and play it to you. We're going to spread our happy feelings all around the room.
BEN:Oh wait Breagha, I haven't started the song yet.
RADHA:Well, why don’t we wait for our feelings friends to join us?
BOTH:Oh yes.
RADHA:Hello Cia, hello Louis, come in.
CIA:Hello.
BEN:Hi!
RADHA:So what do you like to do when you're feeling happy?
LOUIS:Cheer.
RADHA:Shall we all cheer together?
BEN:Oh yes!
RADHA:Ready?
ALL:Yaaaaay!
RADHA:And how about you Cia, what do you like to do?
CIA:Laugh.
RADHA:Oh… Let's all laugh together?
BEN:Yes, yes.
RADHA:Ready?
ALL:Ha ha ha ha!
BEN:We're feeling happy as we're going to a song.
BREAGHA:And a dance.
BOTH:For Radha's birthday!
BREAGHA:Ready Ben?
BEN:Yes.
It's Radha's birthday today Let's all sing hip hip hooray
She's just so special to us She gives the best fuzzy hugs.
Fuzz, fuzz, fuzz
RADHA:Ah brilliant! Thank you Ben and Breagha.
BEN:Thank you.
RADHA:Thank you so much for sharing that. So Louis and Cia, who wants a fuzzy hug?
BOTH:Me!
BEN:Oh yes please.
RADHA:Aww that’s a lovely hug.
BEN:Thank you.
BREAGHA:Thank you.
RADHA:Thank you Louis, thank you Cia.
BEN:Thank you Cia.
ALL:Bye!
BEN:Being happy is a nice feeling. But I also know that you can't feel happy all the time. Like, when I couldn’t get your song right and Breagha helped me.
BREAGHA:Yes, it's good to try and make other people feel better. It's always good to share those happy feelings with everyone else around you.

Teacher Notes
You could split your class up into smaller groups and get them to take it in turns to share what they like to do most when they are happy.
The rest of the group could then join them in doing the thing that makes them happy - e.g. cheering, laughing, jumping on the spot.
You could also ask them to think of things they could do to help their friends feel better when they are feeling unhappy.
This clip is relevant for use with children at Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and Scotland.
It is also suitable for teaching PSHE at KS1 and Health and Wellbeing at Early and 1st Level.
