How do the celebrities on the Met Gala carpet avoid wearing the same thing and potentially clashing with another guest?
It has long been rumoured that Anna Wintour approves everyone’s outfits ahead of time. However she debunked the myth on Good Morning America last week.
But she, Vogue and the Gala do advise anyone who might want it, she said.
It also comes down to the designers, who often buy tables, which can go for up to $350,000, and cherry-pick the stars they’ll dress.
Think of it as an investment in their brand and the opportunity for the maximum amount of eyeballs on their designs for fashion’s night of nights.
As the celebrities are working directly with the design houses, oftentimes in collaboration with their own personal stylists, the risk of a clash is low.

During the press tour for her film The Substance, Moore's outfits recalled the body horror themes of the movie, while her awards campaign for the role of Elisabeth Sparkle saw her dressing for the statuettes she wanted to win - not necessarily the statuettes she has.
